The MultiSpeak Specification 

The MultiSpeak Specification consists of: (i) UML class models and XML schemas that document the MultiSpeak data model, (ii) web service description language (WSDL) files that define the messages used to implement interoperable web services, (iii) a specification document, (iv) use case documentation, and (v) a security standard. The following documents are currently available to MultiSpeak members:

MultiSpeak Version 5.0 (first released 2/18/2015):

  • UML class model
  • XML schemas
  • WSDLs for 40 web services endpoints comprised of 670+ defined messages
  • Use case library documenting the use of most of the 670+ messages and covering many of the utility business processes used in distribution utilities.

 

MultiSpeak Version 4.1 (first released 6/30/2010):

  • UML class model
  • XML schemas
  • WSDLs for 30 web services endpoints comprised of 600+ defined messages
  • Use case library documenting the use of key messages and covering many of the utility business processes used in distribution utilities.

 

MultiSpeak Version 3.0 (first released 10/20/2005):

  • XML schemas
  • WSDLs for 23 web services endpoints comprised of 300+ defined messages
  • Specification document outlining the proper implementation of this version of the specification.
  • The only specification of its type to be adopted by the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) in its Catalog of Standards ( http://sgip.org/resources/catalog-of-standards/ )

 

MultiSpeak Security Specification:

  • “Security in MultiSpeak-Enabled Applications” is the only standard to secure implementations of smart grid messages that has been adopted by the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) in its Catalog of Standards ( http://sgip.org/resources/catalog-of-standards/ ).
